Pro Academia Prize 2025

The Board has decided that none of the proposed candidates merits the Prize for 2025. Thus there will be no Prize for 2025.

The Board stated: "At present it seems that only a few — mostly el­der­ly — academics remain to uphold the customary ethics, cul­ture, tra­di­tions, even laws of academic life and cooperation — living in peace and harmony with other academic communities, forging in­ter­dis­ci­pl­ina­ry teams.
"At many universities or similar institutions there is no more social agree­ment. Ego­cen­tri­ci­ty seems to have killed it. Many people at scien­ti­fic in­sti­tu­tions have different agendas and goals, and in many in­stan­ces the self-control mechanisms are not properly obeyed, most likely not even properly understood."
